Where do your materials come from?
We have a great connection with both our certified organic cotton and lamb’s wool suppliers – and both are located in North America. Our organic cotton is Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified, grown and milled into yardage in the southern USA, while our lamb’s wool is raised and produced in western Canada.
Why source from within North America?
Keeping our sources within North America means that we are confident in the organic certification for our cotton and are able to truly know the methods in our wool production. Sourcing from closer to home also makes for a smaller shipping footprint and supports more local economies and businesses.
Why organic?
By embracing organically produced cottons, and choosing our materials and sources carefully, we know that Dress Me Up is making a difference in the hands of our little ones, and in the cotton fields and farmlands of the world. What do you stuff your soft toys with?
We use lamb’s wool to stuff each of our organic soft toys and our organic Teething Bonbon. Wool has so many positive, natural benefits! The lanolin on wool makes it naturally anti-bacterial – mildew and mould won’t grow on wool. Wool is warm and springy, and retains familiar, comforting scents. Amazingly, wool is also naturally fire-resistant. It’s an ideal stuffing material for any child’s toy.
Where do you get your printed fabric?
All of our prints are our original, copyrighted artwork! Our prints are GOTS certified organic cotton, and either hand screen-printed by us in house or digitally printed in the USA. We pre-wash all of our fabric, printed and natural, to ensure colourfastness and to eliminate shrinkage (particularly for our baby linens).
How do I wash your toys?
Our organic Teething Bonbons are made to machine wash and dry – easy! Our other organic soft toys are surface wash only. Surface wash only?! Yes. Most stuffed toys, regardless of their stuffing content, are surface wash only. You should never fully saturate any stuffed toy, you never know what could end up growing inside …
The care instructions for our linens are simply machine wash and dry, or machine wash and hang dry. Each of our products comes with an information tag with care details.
Do you ship internationally? What are your terms?
We do ship internationally – though do not yet have international shipping set up in our online store. Please contact us with your order request if you are ordering from outside the USA or Canada. Do you have any Retailers?
We are excited to work with a select number of Retailers who specialize in natural and creative play products for young children and who support independent artists. It’s wonderful to be connected to a wider community of stores, and we know that sometimes you may just want to make a purchase in person. How can I contact you? Where can I find out more?
In the interest of foiling the spambots, we use an online Contact Form instead of posting our email address on the website. The Contact Form sends your message straight to our inbox, and we reply to you from a real email address within 2-3 days (remember, we’re a small company and it’s just Tressa answering emails!).
