Not only was I able to personally recharge, I was able to give time and s p a c e to my relationship with my creative work a.k.a. Dress Me Up. I return to my studio renewed and eager – such a great feeling. Over the next month you’ll notice little changes around the site – new pictures, new products, new text – bringing a breath of fresh air to the place. Ahhhh…

I’m excited to share this picture with you – a quick snapshot of Organic Cloth Balls made my new fabric line!

The new fabric is digitally printed rather than hand screen printed (as shown in the bottom right corner), onto GOTS certified organic cotton in the USA. Bright and bold, I love with how dynamic and playful my prints are, and how they cozy up beside my natural organic cottons so well. The images on the new fabric are mine, of course – hand drawn and one of a kind! Toys with the new fabric will soon be posted in my shop… but if you’re itchin’ to get your hands on one right now, just send me an email and I’ll do up an order. The hand printed cloth balls will continue to be available until sold out. Mmmm, change is good!

Local Love

I’ve received some lovely local press this month! The Three Penny Beaver

I’ve just posted our newest soft toy, the Limited Edition Three Penny Beaver to our DressMeUp.ca site! Available now for immediate shipping, this sweet woodland friend makes a darling gift for your newest Canuck. (Don’t forget the ex-pats!)

Some have asked why “Three Penny” for this little beaver’s name? Colonial Canada’s first postage stamp was for 3 cents, and featured a beaver. The stamp came to be refered to as ‘the three penny beaver’. More recently, the phrase ‘three penny beaver’ has been used to describe something that’s really awesome. The online Urban Dictionary offers this example of useage (I love it!)

“That poutine is a real three penny beaver, eh?”

Heck, yeah!

Enjoy,
